Armored would be
-----BEGIN PKCS7----- or -----BEGIN CERTIFICATE CHAIN-----
<base64 stuff>
-----END PKCS7----- or -----END CERTIFICATE CHAIN-----
Unarmored is just the base64 without the beginning and ending sentinels.
